An integrated Linked Building Data system: AEC industry case

Environmental assessment is a critical activity for ensuring buildings are performing according to specified requirements, and efficient, seamless exchange of building information crucial environmental assessment. Therefore, all those involved in built environment issues should be able access share not only but also data about products, especially results the products used projects. Of several approaches that have been proposed achieve efficient exchange, semantic web technologies amongst most promising due their capability enhance interoperability between heterogeneous systems. This study proposes an approach can make available early phases lifecycle. It relies on Semantic Web techniques, Linked Data principles, while emerging Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology propose facilitates sustainability buildings. The paper ends with illustration how lifecycle inventory databases integrated, linked BIM software exchanging data.
